Elections are Underway; Meet the LCOC Western Region Candidates and Cast Your Ballot by Sept. 30

Four candidates are running for three open positions on the Western Region Board of Managers and winning candidates will serve 3-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2022. All members of the region will receive either an email ballot or a hard copy ballot which they will be asked to complete and return prior to the close of the election period on Sept. 30.

Your vote is important. The Board of Managers determines the budget, sets the dues, plans and executes regional activities and develops outreach and recruitment for the club. Please support LCOC by casting your vote! You may vote for up to three of the candidates or write-in a candidate, so long as he or she is a member in good standing of the LCOC Western Region. See below for information about each nominee.

Hi, I’m Elayne Bendel, proud owner of a 1964 Lincoln convertible and a 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Lincolns have been in my family since 1959 and I have been a member of LCOC since 2002. After the 2015 Western National Meet, where I handled media publicity, I was elected to the Western Region Board of Managers. Since then I served on the Web Design, Gift Items, Marketing Card, and the 2022 Western National Meet subcommittees. Currently I am the primary administrator of the Western Region Website, creating most of the content and managing site subscriptions. In recent years I have attended most regional activities, 2 Michigan Homecomings and several national meets. I encourage all of you to get involved in your own way. Thanks for your enthusiastic LCOC participation, club support and vote.

My name is Jim Finley and I have served on the LCOC Western Region Board of Managers for the past four years.  I am currently serving as the Board Secretary.  I am interested in serving another term to support the region.  I live in Vallejo, California and I have four Lincoln Continentals from the 1960s and 1970s.

Arv Larson is serving his first term as an active member of the Board of Managers and would like your support in a reelection to the Board.  His career includes a California-licensed Professional Engineer background with advanced degrees in electrical engineering and computer science.  He has provided technical support services to government and industrial organizations as a Consulting Engineer in private practice.  More recently, as a second career, Arv holds a US Coast Guard license as a professional yacht captain, providing operational support and technical services to recreational boaters.  When not aboard their boat, Arv and Nicole live in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, CA, where among other things, Arv maintains and drives their 1979 Lincoln Mark V Collectors, 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII Diamond Edition, 1992 Mustang Special Edition convertible, and 2003 Thunderbird Premium.

My name is Tony Mondini, a member of LCOC since buying my first classic Lincoln, a 1966 white convertible, in 1986. I currently own a powder blue ‘66 Convertible and I’m planning to purchase a new Corsair Grand Touring! A lifelong car nut, and Lincoln admirer, I grew up with Lincolns, even taking my driving test in my dad’s ‘64 sedan. I was a docent at the Petersen Museum, and currently docent at the San Diego Automotive Museum, where I recently helped host an LCOC Western Region event. Since its inception, I’ve supported the Lincoln Motor Car Foundation and have attended several homecomings at the Gilmore. I moved to San Diego in 2017, after retiring from a 40-year career as a designer in the toy Industry and stepped up my participation in Western Region activities, becoming better acquainted with other members, actively persuading new Lincoln and Continental owners to join our club, and exploring ways to add events and expand club visibility in the region. It’s a genuine thrill to be considered for a position on the Board of Managers to continue helping the club be an enjoyable, educational, and fulfilling experience for my fellow lovers of all things Lincoln and Continental. Thank you!
