| The San Marino Motor Classic Board of Directors voted to change the date of next year’s event to August 22, 2021. The reason for the change of date is two-fold. First, the board did not want to reschedule the event as the June date neared if the COVID-19 restrictions be continued. Second, as a prerequisite to hosting the event, it is felt that a period of 6 months of “blue sky” must exist before the event so that everyone has confidence that the show will go on and can plan accordingly.
Thus, the Board of Directors and our major partners, Classic Car Club of America, The Ferrari Club of America – Southwest Region and Packards International have agreed that it would be in the best interests of the event to move the date to August 22, 2021. This will move the 6 month “blue sky” window back to March 1, 2021. Hopefully, by that date we will have a clear assessment of the requirements that our event must meet in order to obtain a permit from the City of San Marino and all will have a greater level of confidence that the show will go on and decide to support the event. The new date falls the week after the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance and we hope that our car friends will look forward to extending Monterey Car Week to an additional weekend in sunny Southern California. Accommodations for the storage of cars and the parking of trailers and transporters will be available for those bringing cars from the various events in Monterey. The weekend will start with our Symphony of Cars Gala on Saturday Evening August 21st and the San Marino Motor Classic on Sunday August 22, 2021.
