San Marino Motor Classic

This invitation-only competitive event has quickly become a staple of the San Gabriel Valley auto show calendar since its inception in 2011. It was established by co-founders Aaron Weiss, Ben Reiling and Paul Colony and held in Lacy Park, an exclusive 30-acre park in San Marino. It is the successor to the Los Angeles Concours d’Elegance. In its inaugural year, the exhibition was a hybrid of a Classic Car Club of America Grand Classic and a contemporary Concours d’Elegance. More than 220 Brass Era, Depression Era and Post-War luxury and sports cars were showcased attracting more than 3,000 spectators.

This year rare and unusual classic vehicles as well as beloved and familiar collector cars will be among the vehicles on display. Three LCOC members, Glenn Gordon, Jim Ayres and Elayne Bendel, will be part of the show this year.

Last year Jim’s 1964 Continental convertible won an award as the best American open car, 1947 -1974 and was named the most elegant post-war open car. Who knows what surprises are in store for 2019 where some 300 cars are expected to complete in 30 classes and for 16 special awards?

Spectator tickets are $25 purchased in advance and $30 on the day of the event. Click here to purchase tickets. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA and the Rotary Club of San Marino, both of which are 501(c)3 non-profit charities.
