One of our LCOC Western Region’s favorite events, the HB Concours, returns for 2022 in its traditional early June timeframe with a two day event this year on Saturday and Sunday, June 4th and 5th to celebrate its 36th anniversary!! As usual the concours will be held at beautiful Huntington Beach Central Park, adjacent to the main library, 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA 92648.
After getting our Lincolns in tip-top shape for the recent LCOC’s Western National Meet, the HB Concours affords our members yet another opportunity to display our gorgeous classics in a congenial atmosphere with awards and lots of activities and beautiful cars to see. The June 5 Sunday Concours event features a wide variety of domestic and imported car and motorcycle marques, with special salutes this year to Ford and Mercedes Benz. On Saturday Hot Rods and Custom Cars will be displayed.
A salute to the emerging electric vehicle market including cars from the Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Mercedes Benz, Tesla, Rivian, Lucid Motors, Volkswagen, and BMW adds a new dimension to the concours this year. Dave Kunz, KABC-TV’s Automotive Specialist, will return as this year’s Grand Marshall.
This family event will present for your enjoyment, Aprile Deanne Entertainment, Vocalist/DJ on Sunday. Also there will be good food, interesting vendors, and for the kids: free ice cream, face painting, balloon art, and balloons.
The Huntington Beach Concours has not only given automotive enthusiasts of all types another opportunity to view their favorite cars and motorcycles, it has been a constant fund raiser for the Children’s Resource Center wing at the Huntington Beach Public Library. With all non-paid volunteers it has, since its founding in 1985, raised over $900,000 in support of the infrastructure of the library, which includes learning services, computers, books and other miscellaneous items in support of all children whether normal, gifted, or physically challenged.
The Children’s Resource Center is ranked as one of the top children’s libraries in the State of California. Proceeds from our Concours events support a constantly expanding and upgraded book, periodical, and resource collection, as well as children’s theater, study labs and specially trained staff to help children.
