Monday Sept 14 Set as Sign-up Deadline for Sept 19 LCOC Wine Country Picnic

Final registrations are being accepted for the Mike Cunningham Wine Country Picnic to be held in Sonoma, CA on Saturday Sept. 19. Co-chairs Jim Finley and Jeremy Sanford said sign-ups are incoming at rates comparable to prior years. But for activity-starved LCOC members, family and friends there is still time to register for the car meet-up and social event before registration closes Monday Sept. 14.

Email your RSVP to get the site address to jsanford@surewest.net or call (916) 202-0365.

Cost of $10 payable at the site will include the car meet-up, driving tour, picnic lunch and wine tasting.

The sign-up cutoff will allow enough time to purchase food and utensils and do site prep before the picnic. Please bring your own chairs and face masks. If you are worried about the wildfires burning around the state, we are advised that they are not near the picnic venue, so should not impact your decision whether to attend.

One of our members, John Petricka, will host the picnic on his home grounds in Sonoma (see photo below) with appropriate safeguards and social distancing. Classic Lincolns and their owners will gather for tire kicking starting at 10 a.m. at the picnic site. A driving tour departing from there at 10:45 will precede the picnic which will run from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

2020 LCOC Sonoma Picnic Area

Jim and Jeremy will prepare the traditional picnic lunch. In past years this repast has featured gourmet food including delicious barbecued meats, yummy side dishes and home made desserts well above the usual cookout fare and an included selection of excellent local wines to taste.

This area is one of the most beautiful in California. Our own Kerry Roscoe will conduct a tasting of seven different wines at our picnic site employing appropriate safeguards, social distancing, and COVID prevention guidelines. Photos below are from a prior year’s picnic and driving tour.
