LCOC was among numerous SoCal car groups invited to attend a special event sponsored by online car bazaar Bring-a-Trailer at Desert Hot Springs. Our own John Burge was onboard for the fun and here’s his account of the morning gathering.

Bring-A-Trailer (BaT) hosted a huge cars & coffee Saturday morning here in the desert. There were lots of amazing cars of every kind and lots of good friends and amazing people, complemented by a spectacularly beautiful morning with snow capped mountains as the backdrop.
From our friend Sandy Edelstein, “Palm Springs… If it’s not fabulous mid-century modern architecture – it’s fabulous automobiles!”
It was truly impressive. BaT anticipated about 100 cars would show up. From the mass amounts, I would guess in excess of 200 turned out. Multiple foreign brands to your domestic were all represented—some more than others. When was the last time you had a Lamborghini roll past you in a parking lot? We saw Model A, Citrons, Oldsmobile, Pintos, Jaguar, Cadillac, Mercury, Rolls-Royces, Jeeps, Chryslers, Porsches, Broncos, Lincolns and so many more.

The friendship and fellowship were infectious. People were just mesmerized by the outpouring of car love mania. And that was by those who brought a classic. There were hundreds of spectators who arrived to view the cars too. Thank you to the Oswits Land Trust for offering the former Desert Hot Springs Golf Course for our enjoyment. We hope BaT will be back soon.
