Classic Mark IIs Dazzle at Coronado’s Motorcars on MainStreet Show

By Marjo MIller

Two stalwart San Diego Mark II owners journeyed to  Coronado Island for the 35th Annual Motorcars on MainStreet Car Show on Sunday April 28, 2024. It was important to get there early so these two rare birds could park together.

The Motorcars on MainStreet attracts hundreds of pre-1975 cars as well as thousands of spectators for this delightful April car show just one block from the ocean. Many of the Coronado streets with their Victorian houses are blocked off for the all-day car display.

Mr. Jim Medina drove his 1956 Mark II which has been in his family since his mother bought the car in 1961. Jim has a number of original ownership documents that he has framed and displays in front of his car. LCOC’s own Marjo Miller drove her 1956 blue Mark II with the license plate “56BBell.” Marjo took second place in her category.

Any San Diego Mark II owner is welcome to join our group at next year’s 36th Annual Motorcars on MainStreet. But remember, to park together, we have to arrive together….

Editor’s note: We can’t be everywhere and are so grateful when our members send us calendar items and articles about events throughout our vast region (CA and NV). Our thanks to Marjo MIller for her coverage of Motorcars on MainStreet.
