Everything Old was New Again at 2019 Fabulous Fords Forever

The 34th Fabulous Fords Forever Car Show is now in the books but new wrinkles pepped up the venerable old event at a new venue.  After years at Knott’s Berry Farm the biggest Ford products show on the West Coast moved to the Angel Stadium parking lot for 2019.  The huge expanse allowed exhibitors of everything from  Model Ts to Ford GTs to spread out over a well planned grid space with the usual manufacturers and club displays on site.

More than 40 clubs of the Ford Car Club Council planned the event and encouraged their members to participate.  LCOC was represented by Baron Night and Jim Ayres on the council and in the club booth. The Lincoln Experience Center furnished some representatives and two beautiful vehicles for the display—a hot selling Navigator and a beautiful latest-generation Continental.

LCOC members  Don Torrence with his beautiful Mark III and Marisa Gustafson with her modified 1977 convertible were on hand for the show.  Marisa’s car was used in the 1977 inaugural parade of President Jimmy Carter and was decked out in its special USA colors and license. Other Lincolns at the show included a lovely modified 1964 silver convertible, autographed by Lincoln guru John Cashman, a 2006 Town Car, 1962 Continental sedan, yellow Mark IV, yellow and black Mark VIIs and several others.

Marisa’s convertible was not the only parade car at the show.  A 1939 Ford Deluxe used in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade for Grand Marshal Chaka Kahn also was on display. along with a 1942 Ford.

A row of Edsels was another crowd pleaser and who could resist. the hundreds of Mustangs from every era since 1965? Thunderbirds also were present in force along with numerous stock and customized Fords.
