Former LCOC V.P. has Passed Away at Age 88

Sadly we report that long-time LCOC activist Russ Upton of Scottsdale, AZ, has passed away at age 88. Russ was active in LCOC leadership and Arizona Region leadership for many years.

He had a rare Lincoln open flower car, participated in many meets, served as an LCOC Vice President and on the LCOC board for many years too.  He had a lot of knowledge about Lincolns, especially the ’56 and “57 Mark IIs.

Current LCOC Executive V.P. Paul Temple describes Russ as, ” one of those guys that would always jump in to help in any way he could.  He was always busy at tax time, but would be available for LCOC activities when he could during that annual time frame.”

He was born on June 4, 1932 the son of Charles and Helen (Merritt) Upton in Canaan, Connecticut.  Russ served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army, from which he received his Honorable Discharge. Russ was a long time worker in the financial services industry where he prepared tax returns.  Due to Covid-19, no formal services are planned at this time.  Richardson Funeral Home, Tempe, Arizona is compassionately serving the Upton family.

All of us at LCOC extend our sincere condolences to Russ’ family and friends.

LCOC member Larry Knutson sends his condolences to the Upton family.
