Good news LCOC members! We have been invited to show our cars at The California State Fair on Thursday, July 27th. There is no registration charge and we can bring as many people as we can fit in our cars for free.
General admission prices normally range range from $8 to $16 per person so this is a real bargain. This annual mid-summer classic runs from July 14-30 at the Cal Expo, but LCOC’s special exhibition day is only July 27.
We meet in the morning at 9:30 at the Century Theater in the Cinemark Complex, 1590 Ethan Way, across Ethan Way from Cal Expo,1600 Exposition Blvd.. We are escorted in to where we will show our cars near the race track. The fair provides a nice shade tent for us and ropes to protect our cars. We can bring as many people as can fit in our cars and all the food and drinks we desire. Our cars are safe behind the ropes and we are free to roam the fair or kick back with friends under our own private shaded space. They’ll give us passes to come and go from the fair and parking passes for a modern car, but our cars need to stay on display until 7:00 or possibly earlier.
It’s a lot of fun and the price is right. LCOC, Corvair Club, The Early Ford V8 Club, and the Nash Metropolitan Club, along with some others, will be showing their cars that day.
