Like a hole-in-one or a first baby, few things in life compare to getting a brand new vehicle, and three LCOC members recently celebrated such a moment with our good friend and LCOC Western Region Board member Scott Balanda as he picked up his gorgeous new Lincoln Nautilus hybrid.
Gift wrapped in a stylish red bow and sporting a pair of champagne look-alike bottles inside, the sparkling Nautilus beckoned its new owner to take it home from popular dealer Lincoln South Coast. Unable to contain his excitement, Scott and Marvin Bautista invited friends Jim Ayres and Elayne Bendel to share in the fun. Jim, fresh from his recent hip replacement surgery, and Elayne converged on the dealer in time to witness the purchasing milestone and oogle the new vehicle.
The latest model Nautilus has been named MotorTrend’s 2025 SUV of the Year and we could not have described it better than they did in their announcement of the pick, “Lincoln’s premium SUV stood out from competitors thanks to its elegant and sporty exterior, excellent driver assist features, interior comfort, and user-friendly, in-vehicle digital experience system. The Nautilus takes the Lincoln brand to the next level with an x-factor that captivated MotorTrend’s judges and ultimately placed the midsize luxury two-row crossover SUV at the top of the podium.”
But the buying sequence began even before MotorTrend’s October announcement. Scott says he was at the dealer two months ago, for what he described as, “the most expensive oil change I ever had.” While waiting for his car to be serviced he kicked tires on the new vehicles in the showroom. Like many before him, the new Nautilus stole his heart. And, as a member of LCOC Scott was able to invoke Ford X Plan pricing to save on the price of the car and on fees, as the X Plan limits the dealer to a document fee cap of $100. It’s a great help when you are in the market for a new car or truck.
He added, “I am happy to say 2024 has been the best year of my career and life. To celebrate, we just snagged this beauty that I have had my eye on for a couple of months since it was being built! My first SUV and by far my favorite vehicle I have ever owned, driven or seen, the new award-winning Lincoln Nautilus!
