LCOC members, families and friends have a rare opportunity to tour an outstanding private collection of collector cars and socialize with the Southern California Imperial Owners Inc. prior to entering the facility. We are cordially invited to take a walk on the nostalgia side with not only beautiful cars to view but also vintage radios, art deco furniture, and movie memorabilia that once belonged to the late Art Astor.
The Browning family has owned car dealerships in Southern California since the 1950s, starting with an Oldsmobile dealership. Mr. Browning’s collection consists of over 130 cars in two neighboring warehouses. Courtesy of Jim Ayres here’s a sampling of some of the beautiful cars on display.
But you must act quickly to register! Attendance is limited to the first 125 people who sign up and individual parties are limited to 4 guests each. Please RSVP to Stu Suede (see below) are required no later than Thursday, March 3rd You will receive the collection’s address with your registration confirmation. SCIOI will extend invitations to other car clubs as space is available.
COST: Ten dollars ($10.00) per person, due on the day of the event. Water, coffee and donuts will be provided to all paid attendees.
The day’s itinerary will start at 9:30 a.m. with sign-in and tire kicking. At 10:00, the collection curator (and perhaps Mr. Browning himself) will welcome everyone and provide a brief history of the Browning dealerships and the collection you’ll about to see. The collection’s doors will close promptly at noon after a two-hour self-guided tour. Thereafter you are invited to have lunch at the nearby Cerritos Towne Center on your own, where there are choices to many different restaurants and cuisines. Driving instructions will be provided.
There is parking on the premises, with overflow across the street in a school parking lot.
