LCOC’s Mike Cunningham Wine Country Picnic Scheduled for Sat. Sept 19

Great news for our members from the northern part of our LCOC Western Region! One of LCOC’s best events—the Annual Mike Cunningham Wine Country Picnic—returns for 2020 with some new wrinkles. Get those vintage Lincolns ready for one of our favorite northern California activities!

Due to the continuing COVID crisis, Sebastiani Winery is unable to accommodate us this year. But one of our members, John Petricka, who lives nearby in beautiful Sonoma, will host the event on his home grounds with appropriate safeguards and social distancing. Tire kicking will start at 10 a.m. at the picnic site and a driving tour departing at 10:45 from there will precede the picnic which will run from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 19.

Co-chairs Jim Finley and Jeremy Sanford will prepare the traditional picnic lunch. In past years this repast has featured gourmet food including delicious barbecued meats, yummy side dishes and home made desserts well above the usual cookout fare and an included selection of excellent local wines. Please bring your own chairs and face masks.

This area is one of the most beautiful in California. Our own Kerry Roscoe will conduct a tasting of seven different wines at our picnic site employing appropriate safeguards, social distancing, and COVID prevention guidelines.

Cost of $10 will include the picnic lunch and wine tasting, payable at the site.

By Sept. 14 email your RSVP to get the address to jsanford@surewest.net or call (916) 202-0365.

There are numerous accommodations in Sonoma, John Petricka recommended a new boutique hotel called Sonoma Bungalows https://sonomabungalows.com . Photos are from a prior year’s picnic.
