Major Altadena Charity Event Needs Your Car for a Day!

On Sunday May 5th, 2019 the Altadena Guild will sponsor a tour of 5 fabulous mid-century homes and 3 exquisite gardens. To make the experience more enjoyable for all, the sponsors are requesting 5 period correct vehicles to be parked either at the homes or nearby on a closed street. Preferred cars are between 1955 and 1965, but a year or two newer or older would be OK. They don’t have to be in concours condition but should be representative of what the homeowners might have driven at the time. There will be live entertainment, plein air market, bakery, classic car show and Expanded Sidecar Cafe.

LCOC’s own Glenn Gordon is coordinating the car registration efforts. If you would like to volunteer your beautiful mid-century Lincoln or other fine car for this event, please contact Glenn at ggordon17@yahoo.com.  You can also reach him at 213-447-7081. Cars will need to be in place by 9 a.m. and remain until 4 p.m.  Owners will receive a free admission to the tour.

The Guild has been sponsoring this home and garden tour in historic Altadena for more than sixty five years. The benefiting charities include the Huntington Medical Research Institutes and Huntington Hospital’s Constance G. Zahorik Appearance Center as well as the Altadena Guild Community Service Scholarship. For more information contact Glenn or click here.
