We are pleased to announce that Incumbents Bazil LaRoche and Rich Hall along with newcomers Mike Klyde and Alex Hart will begin new terms as members of our LCOC Western Region Board of Managers on Jan. 1, 2027. Bazil, who has been our treasurer will begin a new three-year term along with Rich and Mike. Alex will serve for one year to complete a term formerly occupied by a member who left the board mid-term. Nominations for board positions took place in August, but since the number of candidates was equal to the number of open seats each was assured a board position.

Pease welcome and support these volunteers who are donating their time and expertise for the benefit of LCOC and get to know them by reading their profiles below.

We also would like to recognize and thank retiring board member Jeremy Sanford, who leaves the board at the end of December. Jeremy has served multiple three-year terms and held various officer positions including Membership Secretary and Deputy Director, planned numerous activities and actively supported our meets. He has been team leader for the annual Wine Country Picnic, our most popular NorCal activity, and been an enthusiastic member of LCOC. Thanks so much, Jeremy.

Hello, I am Bazil LaRoche and have been an active member of the LCOC and our Western Region for several years now. I have truly enjoyed my time serving on the board and would like the opportunity to continue serving our club. My partner and I are certainly Lincoln and Continental aficionados, as we have a 1956 Continental Mark II, a 1967 Continental, a 2000 LS, a 2005 Aviator, and an MKZ. I am a licensed CPA and deal with accounting and finance as part of my daily life, and love the opportunity to continue serving as treasurer on the board.

Hi, I’m Rich Hall and am starting a second term on the LCOC Western Region Board.

My first memory of infatuation with Lincolns began when I was in fourth grade. We lived in Southern California at the time and my grandfather was visiting from Virginia. We went to see a friend of his living in Palm Springs. We were treated to a tour of Palm Springs in two new, identical Lincoln Continental convertibles he owned. The impression of the coolness of those cars sticks with me today.

When I was able about 15 years ago to get one, I found a 1963 here in Las Vegas. The car is original to Las Vegas so it was in relatively good shape aside from the fact it sat outside here in the desert for 16 years. I since have acquired a 1956 Continental Mark II, a new 2020 Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition, and just last Saturday bought a 1947 Lincoln Continental convertible.

I am interested in the board position to help promote the Lincoln community, especially here in Las Vegas and to assist in activities for the club. I was fortunate to have joined the group for the gathering here last January and also in Lakewood for the joint Lincoln and Cadillac meet. It was great to meet all the members with similar Lincoln interests and to enjoy the company and fun.  I appreciate the opportunity for consideration.

My name is Michael Klyde and I an honored to serve in a Manager position for the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club Western Region. My work background is all automotive related since I was 18, working for DeLorean Motor Company’s Quality Assurance Center in Santa Ana, CA. I also worked my way up in the industry after DMC folded, as an installer at Sears Auto Center, a BAR certified Smog Inspection and Repair License in 1984 (and again in 2008) working for Avis Car Sales and then as a technician at Avis Long Beach and LAX. I moved into research and development at Hitachi Automotive Products, supporting Hitachi systems and components for automotive companies. I moved on to Isuzu for a short time, them Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America developing technician training materials for dealer technicians. I also worked for Tier 1 suppliers developing training for almost every manufacturer. I am currently Toyota/Lexus T-TEN professor and coordinator at Cypress College.

As a car club member since 1984 in the Orange County Mustang Club and Great Autos of Yesteryear, currently a member of South Bay Mustang club, Mustang Club of America, CCCA, AACA, Great Autos, Cadillac LaSalle, Model A Ford Clubs and LCOC. I have served on the board of Great Autos, as President in 2000, an officer in 2001 and a regional director for Great Autos Long Beach area for several years. I have developed driving tours, chaired North/South meets, car show events and judged at San Marino Concours and Model A MARC national meet in Deaborn, 2019. I have also had several of my vehicles in judged events over the years. My passions include the auto industry, automotive history, attending Monterey Car Week, and participating in the hobby from cars and coffee, drive tours, and more. My focus as a leader in the LCOC Western Region would be on working with the team to create memorable events for the members, encourage club member participation with their Lincoln and Continental vehicles, share automotive history, restoration/repair seminars, and outreach to increase club membership and member participation. I would look forward to being part of the team to represent the members of California and Nevada, as well as support the National Club.

My name is Alex Hart, and I am a residential real estate appraiser in Southern California (Santa Ana).  I have loved cars since I was a toddler, and I have a special admiration for luxury cars in particular. My husband Mason and I currently own 13 cars, including two Lincolns. My first Lincoln was a 1988 Mark VII LSC I bought in 1993 – what a gem it was. I put more than 100,000 miles on it in the seven years I owned it. In all, I have owned eight Lincolns – including a 1979 Versailles, Marks V, VII and VIII and a 2005 LS I purchased new. My favorite is my current 1979 Mark V Collector’s Series. A 1990 Mark VII LSC keeps the Mark V company in our garage. I joined LCOC after buying the ’90 in January 2026. I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the LCOC board to further promote the club and assist in planning club activities.
