LCOC Invited to Port of Long Beach Harbor Tour July 12 @ Dock 3 Long Beach Harbor

In a refreshing summertime change of pace, LCOC invites all area members to converge on Long Beach Harbor Saturday July 12 for a free sea-based ”Green Port Celebration Tour” of the waterfront of the nation’s largest seaport complex. Sponsored by the Port of Long Beach, cruise tours will be offered throughout the day beginning at 10 a.m. They will be commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Green Port Policy, offering the community a chance to experience the sights and sounds of a working port while highlighting the Port of Long Beach’s environmental achievements over the last two decades.

Tours leave from Dock #3, adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific (100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach 90802). Park at the Aquarium parking structure; validations will be provided aboard the tour vessels.

We are planning to convene with LCOC members at the dock at 11:15 for the noon tour. There is no pre-registration requirement, but if you are planning to attend, let us know at epbendel@sbcglobal.net .

We recommend arriving no later than 11 a.m. at the parking structure on the water side of Shoreline Drive between Chestnut Place and Aquarium Way, just steps away from the aquarium at 100 Aquarium Way. The 90-minute tours leave every two hours: 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. The validated parking is good all day. So if you arrive at the dock too late to make the noon tour, feel free to enjoy the restaurants and attractions in the harbor and return early for the 2 p.m. or a later tour. Further details about the tours:

  • All tours are ADA accessible.
  • There will be an area aboard the vessel for strollers.
  • Please arrive at the dock by 11:15 a.m., prior to the noon tour departure time. Keep in mind that parking at the Aquarium structure, plus waiting for elevators or walking down stairs, can take as much as an additional 15-30 minutes, so please plan accordingly. The earlier you arrive, the better your chance of having the seat of your choice. Tours depart promptly at the posted time.
  • Light refreshments will be provided aboard the tours
  • Booths, games, photo opportunities and more at dockside.
