With the pandemic, and now the fires, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who’s been negatively affected. It’s been a tough year, but I’m confident that things will eventually get better. We still have many things to look forward to.
On Saturday, Sept. 19th we will have our annual Mike Cunningham picnic, our first event since February. Please see the details in the Events section of this website. If you haven’t registered yet, today, Sept 14, is the deadline for signing up. Email your RSVP to get the site address to jsanford@surewest.net or call (916) 202-0365. Cost of $10 payable at the site will include the car meet-up, driving tour, picnic lunch and wine tasting.
During September our region is holding elections for our Board of Managers. Every eligible member received a ballot either by email on Sept 2 from Bob Blevins, our membership chairman, or by US Mail. I want to take this opportunity to thank those who stepped up and volunteered to have their names placed on the ballot. This year we have a competitive race with four people running for three positions on the board.
Your vote matters! If you haven’t yet voted, you have until Sept. 30th to do so. Click here for info about the election. Your vote gives you a voice in how the club is run, budget matters, and what kind of activities you want to have.
Our annual meeting is scheduled for Oct. 17th in Palm Springs at the site of the LCOC Western National Meet next year. The members elected to our Board of Managers will be introduced at that time.
We’ll also be discussing plans and activities for the Western National Meet next year, and assigning duties that need to be carried out for a successful event. All Western Region members are encouraged to attend. Details will be posted soon in the Events section of this website.
Please be safe and follow the recommended guidelines during the pandemic so that we can get back to some kind of normalcy soon!
