Crank up those classic Lincolns and get ready for a very special event. The LCOC Western Region is excited to announce a Lincoln meet-up and outing at the newly refurbished San Diego Automotive Museum, inside beautiful Balboa Park on Saturday May 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. All area Lincoln owners and their cars are welcome, so share the details with your family and friends!
Plan to arrive between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. for the reserved parking and impromptu car show.
Admission to the park is free and museum officials have generously offered free admission to the Automotive Museum for drivers and one passenger per vehicle for our group members. This is a substantial benefit, as normal admission is up to $14 per person.
We’ve reserved 20 spaces for our group so you must RSVP to info@lcocwestern.org as soon as possible to ensure your parking spot and qualify for free museum admission.
Our own Tony Mondini, a docent at the museum, and Western Region board members Arv Larson and Halsey Posadas will be our hosts. The address is 2080 Pan American Plaza, San Diego. The museum has been extensively renovated during the COVID-19 closure and we are eager to see the changes and updates. Among these is addition of shaded tables in the plaza in front of the entrance. Gorgeous art deco details have been added to the museum facade and exhibits updated within. We can’t wait to see what’s new! See below for a sample of exhibits.
Get lunch at one of the park’s restaurants or bring your own and enjoy the new shaded tables on the plaza on a first come first serve basis or your own chairs and seating options. After visiting with friends and touring the museum check out other nearby Balboa Park attractions. The late-May weather should be ideal for enjoying the outdoors and park amenities such as the Organ Pavilion, Japanese Garden and other museums and exhibits.
See you there!
