The California Automobile Museum (CAM) invites you for a day of classic cars, camaraderie, and honoring our veterans and military personnel who died in service to their country at the Veterans’ Memorial Day Car Show! This special event will take place on Monday, May 27th, at 2300 Front Street in Sacramento.

Registration for the car show is now open, and you can register your car for just $35. On the day of the event, registration will be $45, so be sure to register early! All makes and models are welcome, so whether you have a classic beauty or a modern marvel, we want to see it shine at our car show!  Click here for more information and to register your car.

The event proceeds will support CAM Educational Programs and Wounded Warriors. Plus, with your registration, you’ll receive free entry to the California Automobile Museum!

Gates will open at 8 am and close at 9 am for registration and the public is welcome at 9 am. The event will feature a Color Guard Presentation at 9:30 am, as well as military vehicles, music, and goodie bags for the first 100 to register. There will be 21 awards given out, including Best of Show. 

Car Club Contest: Every car club that registers at least 3 cars will be entered into a drawing for a free CAM Car Club Membership for next year!

Enjoy coffee, donuts, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and beer available for sale throughout the day.

One of LCOC’s most popular spring events, the Huntington Beach Concours returns on Sunday, June 2, with new wrinkles for 2024. This year’s show will offer special salutes to the 60th anniversary of the Mustang, BMWs of all years and Yamaha motorcycles. Lincoln classes have been reorganized to provide more opportunity for awards. Class O8A will include all Marks from II through VIII, O8B will be Continentals 1961-1967 Open, O8C will be Continentals 1961-2014 Closed and O8D will be for All Lincolns 1921-1960.

Once again the beautiful Huntington Beach Central Park adjacent to the Huntington Beach Library, 7111 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92648, will host the event.  7111 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 As always, amazing vehicles, food, vendors and classic motorcycles will be part of the fun.

One of the best aspects of this show is the ability to enter and display excellent pristine examples along with daily drivers or works in progress. Awards are given in “Concours” and “Street” categories so all owners who elect to be judged have a chance to win an award. First place winners each take home a trophy keepsake along with a large bucket of show sponsor Mother’s car cleaning supplies. Second and third place winners each receive trophies.

Spectator tickets at $15 each can be purchased at the gate with children under 16 free with an adult.

Why not support this show,, have fun and do something great for kids!?  Proceeds benefit the Children’s Resource Center wing at the Huntington Beach Public Library.  The Huntington Beach Concours d’Elegance, with all non-paid volunteers has, since its founding in 1985, raised over $900,000 in support of the infrastructure of the library, which includes learning services, computers, books and other miscellaneous items in support of all children whether normal, gifted, or physically challenged.

Last year a diverse group of eight Lincoln owners converged on Surf City’s Central Park. The jewel tones and pastels of the mid-century vehicles were in full view and, of course, basic black which is never out of style!

Five Lincolns at the show carried home awards. Topping the Concours category was Don Torrence’s 1970 Mark III, followed by Elayne Bendel’s 1964 convertible and Halsey Posadas’ 1972 Mark IV. Among Street entries, Ron Anast took home first place for his 1977 Town Coupe and second place was awarded to Bill Herbly with his 1959 Continental.

New LCOC member Robert Adamo displayed a lovely original 1973 Mark IV obtained from a member from the LCOC Northstar Region. How nice to continue the LCOC tradition with this beautiful car.

Bill’s 1959 Mark IV was obtained at auction shortly before the concours. HIs plan is to keep it stock during the restoration process. We look forward to seeing Bill at future events to see how this work in progress is moving along.

Of course, there was much to see outside the Lincoln display. British cars from Bentleys to MGs to Jaguars and others are always prominent at this show and a real treat. Antique fire vehicles added even more to the ambiance. A 1953 Cadillac looked like a treasured artifact from The Godfather. Racers, Corvettes, BMWs, Italian sports cars were part of the diverse field.
