LCOC is invited back to the California State Fair on Friday afternoon, July 26! If you are looking for just a great all-American experience with family and friends and a bargain to boot, this is the one to visit.
This is a totally free event. Your registration includes free admission to the fair for as many people as we can fit in our cars. We’re allowed to bring our own food and drinks, and they even give us a nice roped off area with a shade tent to hang out near our cars. We have in and out privileges and they’ll even give us free parking for a modern car.
We will meet at the Century Theatre, 1590 Ethan Way at 2:40 p.m. We’ll all drive in together at 3:00. We’ll be showing our cars near the entrance to the race track. They’ll be protected behind ropes and we get a shade tent right there with our cars. We are free to roam the fair and see all the exhibits. All the buildings are air conditioned.
The Beach Boys are playing that day, but tickets to their performance will need to be purchased. We will drive in at 3:00 in the afternoon and stay until around 9:00 p.m. when the horse races end. They are now starting the horse races at five. The races start at 5:00 and run until around 9:00. We have to stay until after the last race, when the grandstands empty out. Tickets for The Beach Boys must be purchased separately if you decide to see the concert.
